Mechanical Assembly Specialist
Reports To:
Production and Planning Manager

Main Objectives:
The Mechanical Assembly Specialist is dedicated to delivering exceptional quality and integrity in assembling the equipment within the Dover family, particularly focusing on meeting customer delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble dryer rotors and housings with precision.
  • Balance rotors across various dryer sizes.
  • Construct and install dryer components, including agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves.
  • Conduct leak tests on dryer and tank housings.
  • Engrave equipment name plates accurately.
  • Complete check sheets during the assembly process.
  • Assemble piping systems as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

The individual in this role must prioritize quality, safety, and environmental considerations within their responsibilities, actively contributing to the prevention of harm to individuals, facilities, and the environment.

Additionally, the incumbent is expected to fulfill tasks assigned by management that pertain to their role or arise from operational needs, including overtime and weekend work when necessary.

Work Environment:
This position primarily involves work on the assembly floor, with potential assignments at other facilities as needed.

While executing job duties in a manufacturing environment, employees may encounter mechanical components and vibrations, and the noise level can be significant, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role require regular communication, as well as significant physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Frequent tasks include standing, walking, using hands for handling and reaching, with specific vision capabilities required for close and distance vision, color recognition, and depth perception.

Employees will also need to undergo forklift training and may be required to use lifts and ladders for assembly tasks at heights of five feet or more.

Job Specification:

Education:
Mandatory: High School diploma or equivalent (additional technical skills are advantageous).

Desirable Skills:
Mechanical background with a general understanding of tools.

Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized, efficient, and capable of independent problem-solving. A strong team player with a commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
