Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Department Head in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, presentations, employee assessments, and recruitment efforts.
  • Possess SIT or LS certification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CAD, Least Squares Reduction, and various Survey Software.
  • Experience with GIS platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Robotic Total Stations and GPS technology, including post-processing, is essential.
  • Experience with scanning technologies, drones, and other innovative tools is advantageous.
  • Must be registered in Georgia or have the capability to obtain registration as a Land Surveyor within one year.
  • Proven track record in conducting ALTA, route/database, boundary, topographical, inventory, and other survey types.
  • Coordinate effectively with office personnel and clients as necessary.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource distribution.
  • Must possess project management experience.
  • Engage in pre-survey planning sessions with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura Engineering's operational procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience is preferred. A two-year degree combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Must hold a Professional Land Surveyor license in Georgia; licenses from other states are beneficial.
  • Experience with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing survey projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • At least 8 years of experience in land surveying.
  • SIT license is mandatory.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Carlson software.
  • Experience with LiDAR collection and software (e.g., TopoDOT and Pix4D) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GDOT MicroStation/Open Roads Design (ORD) is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the GDOT SUE process is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and insurability are required.
