Job Summary

Silver Lake Hospital, a leading long-term acute care hospital, is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing intensive respiratory care to patients, administering medical gases, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, and managing mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medical gases, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, and aerosolized medications as medically prescribed.
  • Manage and maintain mechanical ventilation, including measuring ventilator flows, volumes, and pressures, and analyzing ventilator gases and blood gases.
  • Perform and document initial assessments to determine treatment plans with physicians.
  • Effectively communicate treatment plans to RNs and other clinical staff, as well as educate family members about treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Associate degree with a major in respiratory therapy.
  • Current NJ respiratory care practitioner license.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certified respiratory therapist (CRT) OR registered respiratory therapist (RRT) certification required upon hire.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required upon hire (from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association).
  • Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification required within 2 months of hire from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
