We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Structural Engineer to join our team at PGK Services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting analytical structural and forming studies through FEA techniques on automotive components and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and follow project guidelines with minimal follow-up or additional resources needed to complete tasks.
- Run multiple simulation projects correctly and efficiently to meet all program timelines.
- Actively work on developing new processes, procedures, and methods for analysis.
- Provide further development of calculation methods, in particular the definition of substitute load cases or replacement models.
- Use computer FEA software and equipment to perform engineering simulations.
- Ensure model and post-processing are completed in accordance with quality requirements, customer specifications, and Cosma standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support the design, test, and structural development of components and systems by applying root-cause analysis and countermeasure proposals for issues identified during product development and testing phases.
- Correlate experimental data to simulation data.
- Analyze FEA results and proposed product changes to determine feasibility or potential improvement of components and systems to initiate optimization within the project.
- Write technical reports to explain the FE results and provide recommendations to improve overall design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- 3+ years of related experience required.
- Knowledge of FE software such as Ansa/Hypermesh, Nastran, Abaqus, Optistruct, Heeds, LS Dyna, nCode, FEMFAT, optimization tools, and post-processing tools.
- Able to perform linear, non-linear, and dynamic simulations.
- Knowledge of structural requirements for durability, NVH, and crashworthiness.
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- 5+ years of related experience preferred.
- Process and manufacturing knowledge covering forming, joining, and assembly.
- Experience in developing BIW, closures, and chassis components.
- Experience working with TeamCenter PLM.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may occasionally approach very high levels when moving around a factory floor.
