Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of specialized electrical, mechanical-HVAC, and clinical repairs to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance activities for all AMG buildings and practice sites
  • Perform electrical tasks, including installation of conduit, wire, fixtures, and replacement of bulbs, ballasts, and switches
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor controls, electrical distribution systems, and fire alarm equipment
  • Replace floor, wall, and ceiling tiles, and install new ceiling grid systems and floor installations
  • Perform major plumbing repairs, including replacement of sinks, commodes, and piping
  • Install plumbing systems and repair, install, and maintain sprinkler systems
  • Operate power tools and utilize hand tools proficiently
  • Respond to and remedy heating and cooling requests, and adjust control devices as needed
  • Perform a variety of cleanup tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, dusting and wiping, and emptying trash
  • Install general equipment, including bulletin boards, shelving, and soap dispensers
  • Perform major repairs to clinical equipment, including exam tables, carts, and wheelchairs
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED, plus training required for stationary engineers license
  • Three years of experience working with boilers, pumps, H.V.A.C. systems, and associated equipment in a large institution or major facility
  • Current City of Chicago, City of Elgin, or National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers (NIULPE) stationary engineers license
  • Current State of Illinois driver's license
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to travel, walk, climb, push, pull, bend, and reach. The position may involve exposure to hazardous materials and toxic substances, and the ability to work in extreme cold or hot working conditions and confined spaces.
