Nuclear Safety Systems Engineering Advisor

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Systems Engineering Advisor to join their team in Layton, UT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments and analysis of nuclear weapon system software to ensure compliance with DoD Nuclear Surety standards.
  • Review software, conduct code examination and testing, and document analysis results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety hazards associated with software and hardware design languages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Masters of Science in STEM degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or PhD degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in software testing, software safety analysis, or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies and inefficiencies, and safety hazards associated with software and hardware design languages.
  • Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD Top-Secret security clearance.
  • 8 years' experience in software testing, software safety analysis, or related technical field.
  • Experience with Air Force Safety Manuals, Instructions, and Processes.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages, Integrated Development Environments, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and IBM DOORS.
