Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist is a critical member of our Imaging Services team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while performing complex Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures under the direction of a physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proper radiation safety protocols, handling, measurement, calibration, and administration of radioactive sources and radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Execute processes for receiving, documenting, handling, storing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations per departmental protocol, demonstrating competence in scanning parameters and ensuring the appropriate radioactive material is given to the correct patient through the proper route for imaging and treatment purposes.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Maintain competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
  • Follow State Division of Radiation Control, NRC, and Intermountain policy and procedure, including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical workflows.
Requirements
  • Completion of a formal Nuclear Med Tech training program.
  • ARRT NM or NMTCB Registration.
  • Current state Radiology Tech License.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • One year of Nuclear Medicine experience.
  • One year of PET/CT experience.
