Job Summary:

Excelon Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Technician to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our datacenter's network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and terminate fiber optic cables, including LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors.
  • Perform continuity testing on horizontal and riser cables using a volt-ohmmeter.
  • Troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cables.
  • Use a tone set to identify and locate cable issues.
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
  • Calculate end-to-end loss budgets in accordance with TIA/EIA standards for multimode and single-mode fiber.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic cabling and network infrastructure.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
