  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and overall health.
  • Providing education and training to staff and family members regarding nutritional care.
  • Monitoring and evaluating nutrition programs and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Preparing detailed reports and conducting quality assessments of nutrition services.
  • Offering technical assistance and guidance to peers and interns as necessary.

Work Environment
This position operates under the general supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, allowing for a degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Clinical Nutrition Specialist II may also be involved in disaster response and recovery efforts as required.

Essential Functions
Regular attendance and the ability to work flexible hours, including potential rotating shifts, are essential for this role. The Clinical Nutrition Specialist II will:

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy specifically for psychiatric patients.
  • Evaluate nutritional status and develop comprehensive care plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Create educational materials and conduct nutrition education sessions.
  • Review and update patient data for leadership as needed.
  • Develop complex therapeutic menus to accommodate medical and physical needs.

This position is integral to the mission of the Health and Human Services Commission, focusing on delivering high-quality, individualized care to enhance the health outcomes of patients.
