The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Vertical Lift Division is looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer to join our team.

Our team is responsible for developing the next generation of products and services for the BDS business unit, focusing on the fabrication and assembly for various programs.

We engage in all aspects of engineering, including technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, integration, testing, and product demonstration.

The Junior Industrial Engineer will be part of a dynamic team involved in high-intensity development, production, and sustainment projects.

As a team member, you will have the chance to collaborate and coordinate engineering solutions with production operations, Integrated Product Teams, suppliers, and our customers.

This role will concentrate on manufacturing processes related to helicopter structures, final assembly, sub-assembly, painting, and production flight testing.


Key Responsibilities:
- Apply fundamental industrial engineering principles, methods, and techniques to products, processes, and services to fulfill program requirements.
- Assist in developing plant layouts, capacity plans, safety measures, operation sequencing, and workflows.
- Participate in assessing new techniques and technological advancements for integration into production and service operations.
- Help design, maintain, and optimize production systems by integrating design, supply chain, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
- Conduct basic workflow design and analysis.
- Create simple models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data, providing summary analyses and metrics for leadership consultation.

- Support research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, reduce costs, and improve quality for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.

- Assist in executing plans and programs for facility modifications and updates to operational methods.
- Document assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.

- Aid in preparing operational plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting, capacity analysis, and production changes to meet technical goals.

- Support execution planning using project management, planning, scheduling, and shop load practices.
- Provide support for production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and recovery planning.
- Adhere to compliance requirements with established industry safety standards and ergonomic guidelines.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet these requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by export regulations is necessary.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must reside in the area or relocate at their own expense.
