The successful candidate will assist the Manager with providing leadership to the Financial Counseling Unit staff, County Outstation Worker, and on-site Vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager in providing leadership to the Financial Counseling Unit staff, ensuring efficient operations and achievement of objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle managers to ensure effective access and use of University Hospitals information systems and compliance with operating standards.
  • Coordinate with the Manager Financial Counseling and the Director Patient Registration and Financial Counseling to ensure efficient operations and achievement of objectives.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and University Hospitals' policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Admitting, Financial Counseling, Hospital Billing, or Patient Financial/Business Services.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of eligibility criteria for public assistance agencies.
  • Previous hospital business office experience and knowledge of the Health-Quest computer system are preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Solutions products.
  • Experience with hospital insurance, medical terminology, and managed care.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Charity Care guidelines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, interact with external and internal departments, and train and supervise staff.
