About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and HIV specialty care to youth, young adults, and women with HIV/AIDS. This includes obtaining comprehensive history, providing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and following up on laboratory results. The successful candidate will also participate in clinical research activities, recruit and enroll clients in HIV clinical research studies, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive primary and HIV specialty care to patients
  • Obtain comprehensive history and provide physical examinations
  • Order diagnostic tests and follow up on laboratory results
  • Participate in clinical research activities
  • Recruit and enroll clients in HIV clinical research studies
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and Furnishing License Certification
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) board certification
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Clinical work experience or training with HIV
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current oral and parenteral drugs used in the management of AIDS-related conditions and primary care
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification from the American Academy of HIV Medicine
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish fluently
  • Knowledge of the Experimental Bill of Rights to ensure effective advocacy for participants
Special Conditions:
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
