Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a skilled Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality services to individuals determined by the court as not compliant to stand trial and appropriate for community treatment.

About the Role

This full-time position is responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients, including working with clients individually in the office and in the community on an outreach basis. The successful candidate will also act as a Master Instructor for our Outpatient Competency Restoration Program (OCRP), supervising diversion case management staff in outpatient and residential settings, and ensuring program fidelity through quality assurance activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed.
  • Maintain client and staff confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist clients in utilizing the Breaking Barriers Competency Program to provide individualized assessment barriers to competency, develop and maintain individualized care plans, monitor client's barriers to competency, and provide standardized psychoeducational and psychosocial treatment.
  • Coordinate new referrals and direct & coordinate client intakes to ensure timely completion of intake documentation upon request of the Forensic Navigators.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.
  • A minimum of 2 years of job-related experience, including experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or working towards licensure.
