Overview:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking a dedicated and innovative individual for the role of Assistant Professor in Biochemistry. This position is designed for a tenure-track faculty member who will contribute to the academic community through teaching, research, and service.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biochemistry and related subjects.
2. Instruct introductory and general chemistry courses at the undergraduate level.
3. Develop a robust research program that enhances the current Biochemistry research areas within the department.
4. Engage in student mentorship and provide guidance to diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
5. Participate in departmental meetings, assessment of student learning, and service activities.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Biochemistry or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
- Proven research experience that will contribute to the diversification of Biochemistry research.

Preferred:
- Experience in culturally-responsive teaching and mentorship.
- Postdoctoral or industrial research experience.
- A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in grant proposal writing.
