Position Overview
In the role of DevOps Engineer for the API Gateway initiative, you will play a vital role in managing and refining the CI/CD workflows for a crucial gateway platform. This platform serves as the main access point for all external interactions within the company's ecosystem. Your duties will encompass automating deployment workflows, enhancing system reliability, and developing and maintaining automation scripts. You will collaborate closely with a varied team of engineers and stakeholders to ensure that deployment and rollback procedures are both efficient and dependable. This position demands expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scripting languages, with a strong emphasis on continuous integration and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and improve the CI/CD pipeline for the API gateway initiative.
- Create and maintain automation scripts utilizing Groovy and Python.
- Design and optimize Jenkins pipelines, including the automation of rollback procedures.
- Utilize Kubernetes on AWS to tailor components and manifests.
- Integrate infrastructure builds with application deployment workflows.
- Work alongside engineering teams to enhance deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
- Address and resolve deployment challenges to minimize disruptions.
- Engage in operational reviews and provide ongoing support to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in DevOps engineering, particularly in CI/CD workflows.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Groovy.
- Experience with Jenkins and automation of deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with Argo CD and Git-based version control systems (GitHub, GitLab).
- Basic understanding of Java and Gradle is advantageous for comprehending integration tests and code.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java and familiarity with Java-based code and integration tests.
- Knowledge of additional CI/CD tools and technologies.
- Experience with large-scale deployment and management of complex systems.
Educational Background
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
