Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior Human Research Protection Protocol Compliance Specialist to support one of our Department of Defense (DoD) clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to the Office of Naval Research (ONR) as a Senior HRPP Specialist.
  • Conduct preliminary evaluations of non-compliance allegations and research misconduct, identifying areas of concern and formulating corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain forms, data, and other regulatory compliance materials within a centralized database for efficient reporting and analysis.
  • Compile and present HRPP-related metrics reports for the Department of the Navy (DON).
  • Evaluate compliance of DON Commands, institutions, and non-DOD collaborators with federal and DOD regulations regarding human subject protection in research.
  • Assist in the assessment of human research protection programs across various commands and laboratories through on-site visits and inspections.
  • Review human research protocol submissions and monitor compliance with federal and DOD requirements, documenting findings for quality improvement purposes.
  • Support the development of HRPP policies and procedures, including work instructions.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as managing training databases, preparing conference materials, and coordinating meetings.
  • Provide expertise in human subject protection across operational forces and training commands in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations as needed.
  • Travel may be necessary for this role.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in human research protection.
  • Proven experience with federal regulations, including DOD/DON policies.
  • Experience in reviewing human subject research for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft HRPP-related policies and guidance for stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing assurance packages to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in inspecting and auditing HRPP stakeholders.
  • A Secret Clearance or interim Secret Clearance prior to onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both medical and non-medical research supported by the DOD.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership within the DON HRPP.
