Position Overview

As a Senior Engineer for Braking Systems, you will assume the role of product owner and engage in engineering tasks associated with the development of braking systems. Your responsibilities will include collaborating across various departments to devise engineering solutions for complex challenges and executing those solutions as appropriate. You will play a vital role in the global Vehicle Dynamics Sub-stream Team, ensuring alignment throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Product Owner for braking system development, guiding the strategic direction for braking systems in North America.
  • Lead and assist in resolving technical product quality challenges.
  • Make informed technical decisions at the subsystem/component level with global and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee engineering releases and reviews, ensuring approval of engineering documentation and deliverables.
  • Guarantee that new designs meet business objectives as well as Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature targets.
  • Engage in networking within the organization and influence efforts at other sites.
  • Manage component releases to address maintenance concerns or secure project outcomes.
  • Develop modular systems and components to enhance part diversity.
  • Verify component durability through analysis requests and/or physical testing.
  • Communicate ongoing project deliveries during leadership meetings.
  • Integrate contributions from others and ensure quality readiness prior to release.
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of acquired knowledge (e.g., training) and provide technical guidance.
  • Participate in the implementation and development of necessary processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in product development within the transportation sector.
  • Prior experience in a product development setting.
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty trucks.
  • Previous experience in Controls Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Control Systems, specifically Braking Systems.
  • Experience with FMVSS and CMVSS standards.
  • Understanding of ISO26262 standards.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD (CREO - AVP).
