Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer

Join our team at Gus Perdikakis Associates as an Electrical Systems Engineer and take on the challenge of developing and troubleshooting electrical design, programming, and digitization of automated, robotic, and information systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for owning and building Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Human to Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Your expertise in power systems, computing and network technologies, machine control and instrumentation, vision systems, robotics, and electrical safety regulations and best practices will be invaluable in leading manufacturing lines and machine controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and troubleshoot electrical design, programming, and digitization of automated, robotic, and information systems
  • Own and build Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Human to Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Lead manufacturing lines and machine controls
  • Have knowledge in power systems, computing and network technologies, machine control and instrumentation, vision systems, robotics, and electrical safety regulations and best practices
Requirements:
  • 4 or more years working in a manufacturing environment in a controls and automation discipline
  • Knowledge of HMI development (e.g. FactorytalkView Studio, Wonderware), and PLC programming (e.g. ControlLogix) is an asset
  • Familiarity with IT/Networking and database applications
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Understanding of instrumentation and measurement systems for Process Control
  • Experience with industrial networks and safety standards preferred
  • Experience working with 480/277VAC 3-phase, 208/120VAC 3-phase, also 24VDC, 4-20ma, 0-5V and 0-10V control circuits
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70, 70E, 79 safety standards and machine design specifications
  • Must have knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain networking platforms and industrial control software: DeviceNet, ControlNet and Remote I/O, DH+, DH485, and EthernetIP

This is a 6 month contract position working onsite at a large well-known consumer products company in Greensboro, North Carolina. Pay is based on experience and expertise level of the candidate: $50 - $80 per hour.
