POSITION SUMMARY:

Nexus Health Systems is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team. As a key member of our respiratory therapy department, you will be responsible for administering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to patients with respiratory disorders, including those requiring intensive care treatment.

JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer medical gases, humidifiers, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  • Provide basic patient education and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Follow verbal and written orders from physicians in administering drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system of patients.
  • Evaluate treatment programs and results, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Perform basic assessments of Arterial Blood gases, Pulmonary Function Testing, EKG, and chest x-rays.
  • Communicate with the Director of Respiratory, physicians, and other treatment team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in patient care conferences and weekly rehabilitation meetings.
  • Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate, and professional guidelines.
  • Participate in discharge planning and communicate with the Director of Respiratory Therapy regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Three years of experience in the environment and level of core in which performing duties.
  • Six months of mechanical ventilation experience.
  • Current Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Practice.
  • Basic Life Support- American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
