As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will deliver tailored academic, community, and social instruction to enhance the educational experiences of students with special needs enrolled in our programs. Your responsibilities will include designing curriculum, preparing lesson plans, and developing instructional materials that cater to the diverse requirements of each student, ensuring alignment with state educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff throughout the school day
- Modifying and adapting instructional resources to meet individual student needs
- Maintaining and utilizing technology effectively within the classroom
- Gathering and analyzing data on Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives and reporting findings as per district guidelines
- Creating, documenting, and executing IEPs
- Employing evidence-based instructional strategies and assessments
- Implementing school-wide positive behavior support initiatives and personalized behavior plans
Supervisory Duties: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role following a 193-day academic calendar. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on district needs. Occasional evening or weekend commitments may arise as necessary.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel may be necessary for off-site meetings.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree
- PA Special Education Certification
- PA K-12 Regular Education Certification
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders, including parents and team members.
