About the Role

The Association of California Water Agencies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as its next General Manager. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals and make a meaningful impact on the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the District's administrative activities, water systems operations, and fiscal responsibilities
  • Provide advice and assistance to the Board of Directors
  • Represent the District's interests at local, regional, state, and federal level meetings
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives, planning, policy principles, and regulatory and legislative matters
Key Performance Indicators
  • Strengthen staff and capacity to deliver high-quality services
  • Manage sewer system initiatives and prioritize District projects
  • Develop and implement funding opportunities to accelerate infrastructure and other projects
  • Encourage community engagement and communication regarding District services
Current and Future Projects
  • Desalter Pilot: Lead a desalter project for the area
  • New Castroville Sign: Manage the development and installation of the city's new sign
  • Funding Streams: Pursue funding opportunities to accelerate infrastructure and other projects
  • Community Engagement: Encourage community engagement and communication regarding District services
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, engineering, law, or a closely related field
  • At least five years of experience in a public agency management position responsible for the formulation and implementation of programs, budgets, and administrative operations
