Job Title: AR Refund Specialist

UofL Health is seeking a highly skilled AR Refund Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for analyzing and processing credit balances, ensuring accurate and timely refunds to patients and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret electronic remittances (ERA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to determine refund eligibility
  • Process refund requests from insurance groups and patients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare and submit Medicare Credit Balance detail reports and Certification pages on a quarterly basis
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications, adjustments, and refunds
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and resolve repetitive issues causing credit balances
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in AR Operations, accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, meet productivity expectations, and work independently with minimal supervision
