Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our finance team at a leading automotive dealership. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting department and design an organizational structure to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Conduct the year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Lead and direct ledger entries and reconciliations, account analysis, and intercompany transactions.
  • Work closely with operational teams to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Proven multi-franchise automotive experience.
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including ledger entries, year-end close, reconciliations, and GL.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to manage large amounts of data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performance.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
