Job Title: Design Lead, Architectural Services

Job Summary:

The Design Lead is a key member of the Design Team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide architectural services for multi-site construction projects. The Design Lead is accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Documentation: Prepares complete, accurate, and code-compliant construction documents.
  • Technical and Creative Solutions: Provides technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
  • Client Requirements: Applies client's program requirements and design criteria to existing buildings and structures.
  • Building Components: Determines the appropriate building components and their design application.
  • Project Management: Responsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines, and commitments for all projects.
  • Collaboration: Coordinates work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Code Compliance: Possesses a working knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Due Diligence: Conducts project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning and building code requirements.
  • Plan Review: Accountable for resolving plan review comments from code officials.
  • Project Liaison: Project liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.
  • CAD Standards: Adheres to CAD standards and follows assigned drafting protocol across all projects.
  • Professional Development: Works with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
  • Mentorship: Supervises and mentors licensure candidates in the NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) Program.
  • Personal Growth: Engages in personal growth using Sevan's I-PDCA process.
  • Project Completion: Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Independence: Self-starter with the ability to work independently on simple to moderately difficult projects.
  • Prioritization: Capable to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and advanced techniques.
  • Skills: Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials.
  • Software: Experienced in Revit (required) and AutoCAD.
  • Project Management: Ability to execute and coordinate multiple projects at a time.
  • Multi-Site Experience: Experience in multi-site projects preferred.
