Job Summary

The University of South Dakota is seeking a highly skilled Grants Specialist I/II to join our team in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the grant application process, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Proposal Development: Coordinate the development and submission of grant proposals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Grant Management: Monitor grant submission approvals, interpret requests for proposals (RFPs), and determine budget content and format.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze grant applications, ensure fiscal and administrative accuracy, and review individual grant and contract documents for compliance with university and sponsor requirements.
  • Communication and Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact between faculty members and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, facilitating the flow of information and representing the office and the university in a professional manner.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various constituencies, handling a diverse set of responsibilities, and pitching in to get projects done.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of and experience with the grant application process, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
