This position entails overseeing a skilled team of both union and nonunion professionals who contribute to achieving departmental and organizational objectives through their dedicated efforts.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, conduct regular updates, manage jobsite logistics, and nurture relationships with adjacent occupants.
  • Champion the Level 10's Injury-Free Environment (IFE) Safety Program.
  • Oversee subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource allocation in collaboration with other Self-Performed Work teams.
  • Mentor foremen to cultivate their growth into future superintendents.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Owners and Design Teams.
  • Manage multiple large-scale and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, subcontractors, and skilled tradespeople.
  • Collaborate with project managers during the construction phase to budget, manage, and forecast labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general conditions.
  • Develop site utilization strategies and determine appropriate crew sizes.
  • Align plans and specifications with design engineers, clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Maintain communication with other departments to ensure all necessary materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project timeline.
  • Engage in pre-construction budgeting, scheduling, and design discussions.
  • Select appropriate formwork systems and equipment.
  • Implement and adhere to project administration requirements in conjunction with the project manager.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related challenges, demonstrating the ability to identify alternative work methods.
  • Foster relationships with clients, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a commercial Construction Superintendent.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software (such as Prolog), and Scheduling software (like Primavera).
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex challenges effectively.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe working environment for all personnel.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires physical capabilities such as repetitive hand/finger motions, arm extensions, and mobility across various job sites with uneven and changing conditions, including climbing stairs and ladders.
  • The individual must be able to navigate the office environment and operate a computer and other office equipment consistently.
