Job Overview

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Inpatient Manager to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical pharmacy services in the medical/surgical units of the medical center.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical data base, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and software skills such as Microsoft Office. A graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy or related equivalent, with a California Pharmacist License upon hire, and Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire, is required. Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience is preferred.

The Pharmacy Inpatient Manager will be responsible for ensuring department compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. They will also be responsible for fiscal management of the unit, including unit budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and revenue enhancement.

The successful candidate will have 5 years or equivalent experience in inpatient pharmacy or pharmacy management, and will be able to work collaboratively with nursing and physician leadership to implement department initiatives to improve the patient's experience.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee clinical pharmacy services in the medical/surgical units of the medical center.
  • Ensure department compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements.
  • Assume fiscal responsibility for the unit, including unit budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and revenue enhancement.
  • Provide leadership in daily operations and assist leadership in assessing and resolving inpatient operational issues and problems.
  • Ensure area of responsibility maintains customer focus by serving as a role model for customer relations, providing feedback and maintaining a positive work climate.
  • Manage assigned staff with responsibility, work with assigned staff to identify their goals and opportunities for development of knowledge and skills, and provide coaching and training to staff.
  • Serve as preceptor and teacher for pharmacy students, interns, residents, and technicians when they are on rotation or staffing in the Hospital or Administration rotations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy or related equivalent.
  • California Pharmacist License upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
  • 5 years or equivalent experience in inpatient pharmacy or pharmacy management.
  • Possesses excellent clinical data base.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses software skills such as Microsoft Office.
