Job Overview

Position Summary

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and operate a variety of equipment essential for chemical processing, including chemical bath tanks, valves, pumps, pressure washers, and PLC-based control panels. Prepare and sustain various chemical solutions and solids necessary for processes such as etching, stripping, and cleaning. Execute specialized procedures and utilize experimental solutions as instructed. Employ a range of measuring tools, including scales for weight and length. Demonstrate the ability to interpret prints, sketches, and manuals; adhere to quality and efficiency standards; maintain accurate records; and conduct preventative maintenance on assigned systems. Instruct and mentor team members as required. Carry out necessary processes to ensure parts are properly cleaned, such as grit blasting or tumbling. Proficiently operate hand tools and, when directed, manage the waste-water treatment system, including monitoring and analyzing metal content in the treatment process.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong proficiency in shop mathematics, including fractions and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with applications and keyboarding.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Ability to perform minor visual inspections to assess part conditions.
  • Proficient in operating various hand and power tools, as well as basic machinery.
  • Capability to perform all tasks while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical ability to lift heavy drums of solutions and perform other strenuous tasks.
  • Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and forklifts.
  • Experience with material handling and lifting devices, with the ability to obtain a forklift license as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate steps to fulfill job functions.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with coating and alloy processes.
  • Familiarity with operating specialized gauges and scales.
  • Working knowledge of acids and bases, including an understanding of associated hazards.
  • Background in chemical handling, usage, and safety protocols.
