Job Overview:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University is seeking exceptional candidates for two available 3-year residency positions in traditional-track veterinary anatomic pathology. This residency program is set to commence in July 2025 and emphasizes practical experience in anatomic pathology along with preparation for ACVP board certification.

Essential Responsibilities:

The residency will provide extensive hands-on training under the guidance of eight ACVP board-certified pathologists, each specializing in various fields including aquatics, zoo/exotics, swine, oral, and ocular pathology, as well as pedagogy and viral oncogenesis. Residents will engage with a varied caseload encompassing necropsy and biopsy services, alongside opportunities for teaching and research.

The caseload primarily includes cats, dogs, small ruminants, horses, exotics, zoo animals, and aquatics, with additional exposure to lab animals, cows, poultry, and pigs.

Work Schedule:

8am-5pm, Monday to Friday; schedule may vary, including some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree, demonstrate a strong academic background, possess excellent communication skills, and show a commitment to a career in veterinary anatomic pathology.

Licensure Requirements:

Eligibility for North Carolina Veterinary Licensure and/or Faculty Certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine is required.

Compensation:

Anticipated hiring range is $54,000.
