WakeMed is a leading healthcare provider in the region, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. As an Anatomic Pathology Specialist, you will play a critical role in our laboratory team, ensuring the accurate processing and allocation of specimens and orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient and specimen identification, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Register specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Process non-gynecological and gynecological specimens for microscopic review and prepare tissue specimens for examination and diagnosis.
  • Prepare frozen sections for the Pathologist and assist with renal biopsies and fine needle aspirate procedures.
  • Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize processing and distribution of specimens.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of related position experience required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Not applicable for licensure/certification.

Work Schedule:

  • M-F, 3 pm - 11:30 pm.
  • No weekends.
  • No call requirements.
