Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist shall be responsible for performing MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the Medical Director of Radiology and Department Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate excellence by consistently producing MRI images of diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric.
  • Follow established scanning protocols and operate the MRI scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
  • Possess knowledge of disease processes and image these findings adequately; communicate them to the Radiologist.
  • Demonstrate accountability for clinical responsibilities and safety practices in the MR department.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an America Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology
  • Completion of courses in MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging and cross-sectional anatomy
  • One year of experience performing MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures
License and Certifications
  • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • MRI post-primary certifications required 1 year post MRI assignment
  • BLS required per St. David's HealthCare Policy
