MRI Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures with diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric.

About the Role

The successful candidate will follow established scanning protocols and operate the MRI scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively. They will also complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures with diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric.
  • Follow established scanning protocols and operate the MRI scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT demands.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an America Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of courses in MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • One year of experience performing MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures.
  • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (R) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • MRI post-primary certifications required 1 year post MRI assignment.
