Position Overview:

The selected candidate will act as the clinical leader at FHCHC's Harm Reduction Center, delivering high-quality medical services to individuals accessing care in alignment with FHCHC's mission and policies.

Emphasizing harm reduction principles, the clinician will adopt a recovery-oriented approach for all individuals seeking assistance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver primary and urgent medical care to adult patients.
  • Prescribe medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders as clinically appropriate.
  • Offer pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention when indicated.
  • Develop individualized care plans, including comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment referrals as necessary.
  • Utilize available resources effectively for diagnosis and treatment, including laboratory tests.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, patients' families, and support staff regarding patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists when needed while maintaining primary care responsibilities.
  • Engage in FHCHC's Quality Improvement initiatives and pursue ongoing education to enhance medical knowledge and patient care quality.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required to support FHCHC's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited APRN or PA program; valid medical license in Connecticut; willingness to serve on the active medical staff of affiliated hospitals; proficiency in Basic Life Support; experience in prescribing MOUD, MAUD, and PrEP.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
