About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Advocate to join our team at New York Life. As a key member of our customer service team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, helping them navigate complex leave of absence plans, and providing accurate and timely responses to their inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding eligibility, leave status, and other related matters
  • Research customer information and input data into designated systems
  • Manage correspondence and notifications within targeted time frames to meet Department of Labor and customer performance guarantees
  • Input intermittent Family Medical Leave (FML) time received into designated systems and render determinations

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; high-level capacity to multitask independently and on a computer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced call center environment
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management focus
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
