Position Overview
- 4 hours daily, 5 days a week
The Afterschool Program Support Specialist is tasked with delivering academic assistance and guidance to students in an afterschool environment, alongside other related responsibilities as necessary.
This role involves supervising a designated group of students consistently, fostering relationships with them, and offering informal tutoring when required.
The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in positive behavior management and the capability to inspire students to concentrate and strive for excellence.
Qualifications and Requirements

- A completed online application.
1.) Associate's degree or higher
2.) Transcripts confirming 48 units or more
3.) Documentation of a Para-Educator Certificate or a passing score on a state or local Para-Educator/Instructional Aide examination.
Note: If you do not meet this requirement, compliance can be achieved through the Para Educator Test at the relevant educational department.

Employees applying for a promotional opportunity will typically be placed at step one of the new higher classification.

Previous experience in a higher classification will be considered for placement in accordance with verified experience.

*Work hours may increase on minimum school days, which vary by school site.
