About the Role

SunSource is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to join our team and drive business growth in the industrial distribution sector. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase profitability, sales, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Region Manager to provide guidance on daily operations and develop annual business plans.
  • Coordinate the Inside Sales effort and input into customer pricing matrices to maximize gross margin and sales.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient shipping, receiving, and processing of materials.
  • Manage inventory and implement storage layouts to optimize storage capacity.
  • Directly manage Inside Sales staff and Shop Foremen, including recruiting, training, and evaluating operations personnel.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects for lean, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop a comprehensive succession plan for operations personnel.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years' P&L experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience managing and supervising in an industrial distribution environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' demonstrated experience leading and developing individuals and teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/related industry experience.
  • 5+ years' Lean leadership experience in a distribution or manufacturing company.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) may be required.
