Job Summary:

The Patient Accounts Insurance Representative Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Insurance Representative Department, ensuring adherence to established Patient First policies and procedures, and setting goals for performance in compliance with the company's vision. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Management or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience in the healthcare field, and possess excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Insurance Representative Department, including Insurance Representatives, Assistants, and Team Leads.
  • Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly productivity and inventory reports to the Patient Accounts Manager.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for Insurance Representatives, Assistants, and Team Leads.
  • Ensure adherence to established Patient First policies and procedures.
  • Set goals for performance in compliance with Patient First's vision and communicate goals to the department.
  • Document employee performance as needed.
  • Adjust account balances and fees due to timely filing and reclassifying accounts as needed.
  • Assign projects to staff as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings as directed.
  • Attend in-person meetings and conference calls with designated insurance company representatives.
  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records.
  • Interview and select staff as needed.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment as trained.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Management or Healthcare Administration (preferred) or combined equivalent of 3 years' education and experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a medical billing department.
  • Knowledge of general insurance policies and the healthcare claims revenue cycle.
  • CPC-A, CPC, or CPB certification (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Employee must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be proficient with using a computer and phone system and navigating Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time).
