Job Summary

Missouri State University is seeking a highly skilled Autism Resource Specialist-BCBA to join our team. This is a grant-funded position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, sustained, and intensive approach to improving school-based personnel's ability to effect measurable educational progress by students with autism or a related developmental disability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with school personnel to provide professional development and create resources and expertise to support students with autism.
  • Develop and implement instructional materials and plans, and conduct in-person professional development workshops, online workshops, and in-classroom coaching for school-based multidisciplinary teams.
  • Consult with and train school-based multidisciplinary teams to conduct assessments in areas of academics, functional skills, social skills, and language skills, and help develop appropriate programming based on these assessments.
  • Advocate for the use of research-supported autism evidence-based interventions in the development of programming and behavior support plans.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in education, special education, or psychology that qualifies the ARS-BCBA to sit for the Behavior Analysis Certification Board's exam that confers the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.
  • At least five years of experience in working with individuals with autism, including assessment, programming, and support.
  • Experience in development of instructional content and instructional resources, and presenting professional development content to a broad scope of school-based personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing and training support staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current research-based instructional and assessment practices related to facilitating educational progress of public-school students with autism.
