Position Overview:
As a Lactation Specialist Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting breastfeeding families by providing expert guidance and care. This position is designed for a Registered Nurse with a focus on Women Services and Lactation Consulting on a PRN basis during daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of breastfeeding dyads, ensuring tailored care plans are developed and implemented.
2. Deliver and coordinate lactation support, education, and resources to patients during antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal stages, catering to both adolescents and adults.
3. Monitor breastfeeding pairs to identify and address challenges, fostering an environment conducive to successful breastfeeding experiences.
4. Provide comprehensive education and support to both patients and staff regarding all facets of lactation management.

Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a relevant specialty or one year of educational experience is required.

Licensure/Certification:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Georgia is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or as a breastfeeding counselor is highly desirable.
