About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our team in the Oncology department. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services for assigned patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Medication Management: Manage medication orders, including age-specific considerations to ensure medication safety, and process, prepare, and dispense medications as needed.
- Inventory Management: Participate in inventory management to ensure accurate and efficient dispensing of medications.
- Pharmacotherapeutic Plan Processes: Participate in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes to ensure effective patient care.
- Supervision and Direction: Supervise and direct healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Education and Training: Provide education and training to healthcare team members on medication management and other relevant topics.
- Inter and Intra-Departmental Committees: Participate actively on inter and intra-departmental committees to contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Automation and Efficiency: Maximize safety and efficiency through the appropriate use of automation.
- Education: Minimum: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.).
- Experience: Preferred: One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Licensure, Registration, Certification: Minimum: PHARMACIST-FOR APPROPRIATE STATE.
- Special Skills: Preferred: Advanced computer order entry literacy, Microsoft Office applications, clinical experience.
- Training: Preferred: BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced post-graduate training or equivalent clinical experience.
