Position Overview

The Material Handler role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse or distribution center. This position involves utilizing forklifts and other lifting equipment to ensure that production areas are adequately supplied with materials and that finished products are properly stored or dispatched.

Key Responsibilities


• Follow all safety protocols and procedures when operating lifting equipment.

• Organize and stack freight systematically to meet safety and quality standards.

• Strategically plan the movement of freight to optimize efficiency based on the facility layout and workload.

• Conduct inspections and operate forklift machinery.

• Execute tasks related to the transportation of goods within the facility.

• Ensure production areas are stocked with necessary materials and manage the transfer of finished goods to storage.

• Regularly monitor product quality and report any discrepancies to prevent issues.

• Sort and process materials as required.

• Pack and organize boxes or pallets according to weight limits and safety guidelines.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of materials to support inventory management.

• Assemble orders from inventory and prepare them for shipment or storage.

• Meet daily productivity targets consistently.

• Provide management with updates on fulfillment challenges, inventory issues, or safety concerns.

• Utilize RF devices for inventory management.

• Ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods.

• Collaborate with the Inventory Control team as necessary.

• Adhere to quality compliance standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with 5S principles.

• Participate in cross-training for various warehouse functions as needed.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must complete forklift training and participate in annual updates.

• Ability to operate material handling equipment as directed.

• Highly organized and capable of working in a color-coded environment.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent collaboration skills.

• Proficient in reading labels and numbers.

• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment.

• Ability to follow supervisor instructions accurately.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a warehouse setting is necessary.

• Prior experience operating forklifts is mandatory.

• Leadership experience is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or RF Unit systems is a plus.
