We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and company representatives, while also performing various business office duties.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Greet patients as they enter the office, obtain required patient information, and perform patient registration, including verifying insurance information and collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Patient Demographic Information: Obtain and update patient demographic information and company information from all patients.
- Scheduling: Answer phone calls and schedule appointments, direct and document patient calls as appropriate.
- Outside Testing: Coordinate scheduling of outside testing for patients.
- Liaison: Serve as liaison between patient and practice, provide back-up for scheduling appointments.
- Confidentiality: Perform all aspects of daily work in a manner which contributes to and ensures an environment of patient safety and confidentiality.
- Reconciliation: Complete daily reconciliation report to assure charges have been entered correctly.
- Chart Management: Pull charts and ready them for the next day appointments, file completed patient charts daily.
- Test Results: File test/procedure results in patient's medical record after physician has signed off on the results.
- Company Liaison: Liaison with company representatives or potential employees to assure correct services are provided.
- Medical Record Requests: Respond to all medical record requests from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, subpoenas, and legal requests per protocol.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Medical office coding experience and/or previous physician office or customer service experience preferred.
