Position Overview

Responsibilities include specimen management, ensuring proper storage, facilitating test orders, confirming test availability, understanding specimen requirements, and coordinating the distribution of patient specimens for laboratory analysis.

The individual in this position will manage information related to patient specimens, providing advanced technical and clerical support that demands independent judgment, self-motivation, and meticulous attention to detail.

This position leads the daily operations of the Client Service Representative team, promoting an efficient and productive work environment. Responsibilities also include assisting in the management of procedures, including reviewing, modifying, and implementing processes, while ensuring effective communication with both internal and external clients of Regional Pathology Services, the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory, and the Department of Pathology and Microbiology.

Qualifications

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Consideration will be given to candidates with two years of post-high school education or related experience.

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting within a healthcare environment.

Required Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and strong customer service skills. Ability to perform data entry efficiently.

Preferred Education: Associate's degree in Healthcare or Biological Sciences.

Preferred Experience: Experience in an outreach laboratory setting and supervisory roles.

Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and patient record software such as Sunquest Co-Path or Epic. Knowledge of medical terminology and typing proficiency of 50 words per minute.
