Job Summary

As a Medical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the stability of patient specimens and performing laboratory tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform moderate complexity testing and waived testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
  • Follow department procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record-keeping
  • Adhere to quality control policies, document quality control activities, and maintain instrument and procedural calibrations
  • Identify and correct problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related science from an accredited college or university
  • One-year internship in an approved clinical laboratory
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
  • Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) certification
  • Minimum one year of experience in a clinical, hospital, or referral laboratory setting
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • This role operates in a healthcare setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and computer work
  • Employee must be able to stand 75% or longer of the workday, walk 15% or longer, and sit 10% of the workday
