Job Overview

Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Employment Release Case Coordinator to oversee the employment initiatives for individuals transitioning from the Department of Corrections. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and requires a proactive approach to case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and authorize weekly schedules and financial plans for residents.
  • Deliver life skills and vocational training through individual and group sessions.
  • Manage the job search process and ensure compliance with job hour commitments.
  • Track resident attendance at job sites through both telephonic and in-person verification.
  • Facilitate attendance at 12-step meetings for residents.
  • Coordinate community service obligations for residents.
  • Maintain accurate case files and complete necessary documentation for the Department of Corrections.
  • Connect residents with external agencies for additional support.
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards as mandated by DOC policies, including payroll and insurance protocols.
  • Assist in aftercare planning and referrals for residents upon discharge.
  • Implement custody control measures as required.
  • Support residents in their return to custody when necessary.
  • Provide transportation for residents as needed.
  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development sessions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of case management methodologies, including assessment and follow-up.
  • Familiarity with the legal framework surrounding probation, parole, and reintegration programs.
  • Capability to formulate and execute personalized case strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with clients, employers, and various stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in chemical dependency treatment and correctional programming.
Additional Requirements
  • Successful completion of a clean background check by the PA Department of Corrections.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Complete CPR and First Aid training.
  • Undergo a TB test.
Work Environment
  • Operates within a Department of Corrections facility.
  • Maintains acceptable working conditions.
  • Involves minimal physical demands.
  • Requires significant mental focus, particularly in detail-oriented tasks and interactions with residents and their employers.
