Senior Cultural Resource Specialist for Naval Facilities

Command Holdings, a Pequot company, is seeking an experienced Senior Cultural Resource Specialist to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Northwest. This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in cultural resources management, including archaeology and historic buildings.

Job Summary

This position involves providing high-level briefs to senior leadership, preparing technical documents and studies, and reviewing draft documents and studies for Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plans (ICRMPs). The ideal candidate will have experience working with cultural and historic resources in the Pacific region and/or military history.

Responsibilities
  • Cultural Resources Management: Provide consultation labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility, performing tasks such as archaeological surveys, field work, and preparation of technical documents.
  • Section 106 Consultations: Assist in coordinating consultations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act with consulting parties, including state and federal agencies, Native Hawaiian organizations, Tribes, and other consulting parties.
  • Environmental Planning Documents: Provide support for the preparation and review of sections of environmental planning documents that involve cultural and historic resources.
  • Field Surveys and Inspections: Perform field surveys, inspections, and monitoring of construction activities to evaluate cultural resources for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in history, historic preservation, anthropology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in cultural resources management, including archaeology and/or historic buildings.
  • Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare high-level briefs, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Salary and Benefits
