Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our Raleigh office. As a key member of our Transportation Group, you will provide engineering design support on a variety of projects, including roadway, municipal, port, and rail design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design tasks for roadway, municipal, rail, and port projects from preliminary to final design
  • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
  • Foster relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, NCDOT, and state clients, as well as private clients
  • Provide engineering design services for traditional design and design-build highway projects
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans
  • Assist in coordinating design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance
  • Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation-related engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience designing transportation/roadway engineering projects
  • Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date
  • Proficiency in Microstation/Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Working Conditions

The majority of work is office-based, with some site visits required. You will need to navigate unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
