Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our Raleigh office. As a key member of our Transportation Group, you will provide engineering design support on a variety of projects, including roadway, municipal, port, and rail design, and develop plans for projects across North Carolina, the US, and potentially internationally.
Key Responsibilities- Perform engineering design tasks for roadway, municipal, rail, and port projects from preliminary to final design
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
- Establish relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, NCDOT, and state clients, as well as private clients
- Provide engineering design services for traditional design and design-build highway projects
- Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans
- Assist in coordinating design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
- Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance
- Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective actions
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation-related engineering; required
- 3 to 5 years of experience designing transportation/roadway engineering projects; required
- Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date; required
- Microstation/Geopak
- OpenRoads Designer
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe Acrobat
