Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Transportation Engineer. This role is essential in supporting our transportation projects and contributing to the overall success of our engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team on various transportation engineering projects, including roadways, trails, and pedestrian pathways.
  • Engage in the design process, focusing on horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, signage, and pavement markings.
  • Conduct safety assessments and implement erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Develop maintenance and protection of traffic plans and prepare necessary construction documentation.
  • Participate in field reconnaissance and inspections, as well as project renderings.
  • Attend relevant meetings and conferences as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Possession of an EIT Certificate is preferred, with the potential to obtain it within a year; a PE License is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects is advantageous.
  • A commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
