We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Highway Engineer to join our team at LaBella Associates. As a key member of our transportation engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, trails, and pedestrian facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, signing and pavement markings, safety assessments, erosion and sediment control, and maintenance and protection of traffic schemes.
- Prepare construction-related documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
- Conduct field reconnaissance and inspections to gather data and inform design decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in Transportation) from an ABET-accredited college.
- 0-5 years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Preferably hold an EIT certificate (or the ability to obtain within 12 months) and/or PE license.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling software and/or PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects is a plus.
- A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $70,000.
